Jobseekers throng Employment-cum-Guidance Fair







Labour Resource Department of Government of Bihar, organiased 3rd State-level Employment-cum-Guidance Fair at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on October 31, 2009.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the fair which attracted thousands of job seekers from different districts of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged the youths to acquire the necessary skills to get jobs in global market.
About 25,000 candidates are expected to get jobs in 125 companies across India during the two-day fair.
In the first edition of the fair in 2007, about 1,100 youths got jobs while about 11,000 youths got jobs in the second edition of the fair 2008 in 35 companies.

On the first day of the fair, 108 companies began their recruitment drives and 1563 youths got jobs while more than 1.2 lakhs applications have been submitted. The first day’s appointment figures showed 1500 youths got jobs in security services in spinning mills. About 60 odds have been selected for supervisory category while only three youths have been selected in banking and insurance sectors.
