PMCH junior doctors continue strike

The indefinite strike by the junior doctors of the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) entered the 9th day on November 18, 2009.
Junior doctors today demanded a written assurance from the Bihar government that their stipends would be raised as demanded.
"We have softened our stance, we just want a written assurance from the government on its promise to hike our monthly stipend from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000", a spokesman of PMCH Junior Doctors Association said.
Meanwhile, junior doctors offered free medical check up to patients at the place of dharna.
