Pilot for better connectivity in Naxal-hit areas of Bihar

Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot said the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) would strengthen its services in the bordering areas and Naxal-affected regions of Bihar to provide better communication facilities to tone up internal security of the country.
Pilot was addressing a press conference in Patna on December 19, 2009 during his Bihar visit.
He said Patna would have Wimax and IPTVfacilities soon.

He said in Bihar, BSNL had identified vulnerable districts bordering with Nepal and Naxal-affected region, including East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madubani, Kishanganj, Araria, Gaya, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Jehanabad and Jamui where altogether 236 BSNL mobile towers would be installed in 2010.
