Mob turns violent after murder in Raja Bazar










Police resorted to lathicharge and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse an infuriated mob, which pelted stones on policemen and blocked Bailey road in Raja Bazar in Patna on August 3, 2010 to protest against the murder of 20-year-old Md Ishtiaq.
Police said a tenant, Md Izazullah with the help of his five associates, stormed the flat of house owner Md Ishtiaq and allegedly shot him dead.
As the news of the killing spread, angry locals blocked the busy road at Raja Bazar and Samanpura areas and started pelting stones on policemen when they persuaded them to lift the blockade.
A cop sustained injury while a a police vehicle was damaged in the incident.
Two of the six persons allegedly involved in the killing of the house owner were arrested.
