Earlier on December 5, RJD chief Lalu Prasad appointed former minister Ram Chandra Purve as the party's state unit president.
Purve succeeds Abdul Bari Siddique, who had recently resigned from the post following his election as the Leader of Opposition in the newly-constituted state Assembly.
Another former minister Vidya Sagar Nishad has been made the state unit RJD Vice-President, Ram Kripal Yadav the party's chief general secretary and Kumar Rakesh Ranjan its treasurer.
