Crime on rise in Bihar: Siddiqui

Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui alleged that that there was an “alarming rise” in the crime rate in Bihar.

Talking to reporters in Patna on December 30, 2010, Siddiqui demanded that Nitish Kumar government should make public the details of criminal incidents occurring in the state every month. “The details of the crimes should also be made available on the government's websites”, he said.

He also strongly condemned the SSB firing on villagers in Kursakanta on the Indo-Nepal border in Araria district recently. Four villagers were killed when SSB personnel opened fire on December 20.

he said the incident was 'heinous and gruesome' and demanded that the NDA government in the state ensure speedy trial and bring the culprits to justice.
