Women stabs Purnia MLA to death

In a shocking incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Purnia Raj Kishore Keshri was stabbed to death at his residence in full public view by a woman who had earlier accused him of sexual harassment in Purnia on January 4, 2011.

The MLA Keshri (51), was meeting visitors from his constituency at his Sipahi Tola residence when Rupam Pathak stabbed him fatally in the spleen, police said.

The MLA was taken to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

MLA supporters caught 45-year-old Rupam, beat her up and handed her over to the police.

The police admitted the woman, who had lodged a sexual harassment case six months ago against the MLA, to a government hospital.
