Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for caste-based Census

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar furnished 29 columns of information when Census officials met him, marking the beginning of second round of compilation of details at his official residence in Patna on February 9, 2011.

Later, talking to reporters he said steps must be taken to ensure a caste-based Census, which has not taken place since 1931. He also appealed to the people of the state to assist the census officials in conducting the marathon exercise.

Census officials also presented a memento to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the occasion.
