Shah Mustaque Memorial Urdu Conference held

Shah Mustaque Memorial Urdu Conference was held at Anjuman Islamia hall in Patna on February 20, 2011. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Abdullah said Muslims were responsible for the plight of Urdu language in the country as they did not promote it.

“Muslims themselves are to blame for the sorry status of Urdu language. You don't use the language in your education, vocation and jobs," he said.

Abdullah felicitated noted Urdu poet Nawak Hamzapuri with a cash award of Rs 25,000 and a trophy. The function was organised by Urdu Council Hind. The organisers also felicitated Farooq Abdulah.
