Bihar Utsav 2011 begins in New Delhi






New Delhi, March 22, 2011: A week-long Bihar Utsav 2011 began with the illumination of 99 earthen lamps by Bihar Governor Debabnand Konwar at the Constitution Club here on Tuesday.

Many MPs and leaders from Bihar including Sharad Yadav, Arjun Rai, Mahabali Singh, Vaidya Nath Mahtoo, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Uday Singh, Radha Mohan Singh, N.K. Singh, Mahabal Mishra, Asrarul Haq, Poonam Azad and other dignitaries attended the opening function to commemorate the 99th Foundation Day of the state.

CK Mishra, principal secretary, Department of Industry, Govt. of Bihar, Alok Vardhan Chaturvedi (resident commissioner, Bihar) and Anshuli Arya (managing director, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority) were present on the occasion.

Bihar Government’s Department of Industry is organizing seven-day programme of “Bihar Utsav 2011 and handloom and handicrafts exhibition-cum-fair at Constitution Club. The fair will continue till March 28.

Three day cultural festivities and an exhibition on cultural & historical heritage of Bihar will be held at PSK, Laxmi Nagar in Delhi from March 23 to March 25.
