Bihar CM Nitish Kumar pays tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar




Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at a state government organised function in Patna on April 14, 2011. The Chief Minister also distributed cheques of Rs 4,000 each to Mahadalit Vikas Mitras.

Addressing the function Nitish Kumar said he was happy to note that the Centre had given due recognition to the Mahdalit Commission set up by his government in 2007 to uplift the extremely backwards among dalits.

He said the state government would further strengthen the Mahadalit Upliftment Centres and Talimi Markaj Centres for imparting skills for unemployed minority youths.

He said the state government would give money to the dalits to purchase radios and urged private firms to organise fairs for ensuring sale of radios at an appropriate price.
