Bihar Government launched Fish Insurance Scheme in association with Oriental Insurance Company. Under the scheme farmers who want to get insured their fish farming will have to pay only half of the premium amount as rest will be paid by the State Government. Bihar Animal and Fishery Resources Minister Giriraj Singh launched the scheme in Patna on June 17, 2011. He distributed the half premium amount to farmers through cheques.
