Six-day Shiksha Diwas function begins in Patna








Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a six-day gala 'Shiksha Diwas' function at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 11, 2011, through video conferencing from the circuit house in Bettiah (West Champaran). The Chief Minister was away from Patna for his 'Sewa Yatra'. The Shiksha Diwas also marked the 124th birth anniversary of India's first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The theme of the Shiksha Diwas is qualitative improvement in teaching , specially in science and mathematics. Students drawn from different schools of the state presented attractive and spell-bound cultural programmes to mark the occasion. They also displayed models to highlight their science acumen.
