Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will bring out a report card of Nitish Kumar led Bihar Government with a document titled “chargesheet” carrying charges on the government failures in law and order, tackling drought, extremism and rural development on November 24, 2009.
This was decided in a meeting of the RJD’s working committee chaired by party president Lalu Prasad in Patna on October 29, 2009.

Disaster management training essential for citizens, says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday stressed the need for imparting disaster management training to every citizen, especially the youths, so that they act on their own at the time of a natural calamity.
Addressing a function, organised on the International Natural Disaster Mitigation Day at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on October 29, 2009, he said there should be special schools where disaster management training programme was undertaken for every citizen, especially youths. “It is necessary so that they are able to effectively guard on their own instead of becoming sudden victims of a natural calamity," Kumar said.

Bihar Government inks deal with ONGC-Tata Petrodyne for oil exploration
Bihar Government inked an agreement with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and its JV partner Tata Petrodyne to explore petroleum and natural gas in a 2227-sq km area in West Champaran (Bettiah) district.
The agreement was signed by Phool Singh, Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology department, and ONGC's General Manager (Frontier Basin), N K Verma, in the presenceof Tata Petrodyne Chief Financial Officer, A Guha, in Patna on October 29, 2009.
Bihar Cabinet had approved a Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) application of ONGC and Tata Petrodyne earlier this month.

"Who is Responsible for India-Pak Partition?"
Former Union Minister and recently under a storm of controversy for his book “Jinnah: India Partition Independence”, Jaswant Singh would participate in seminar on “Hind-Pak Batware Ka Jimmedar Kaun” ( Who is Responsible for India-Pak Partition) at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on November 1, 2009, said Dr M Ejaz Ali, president of All India United Musilm Morcha and Member of Parliament in Patna on October 28.
He said Urdu translation of Jaswant Singh’s book “Jinnah: India Partition Independence” would also be released in the seminar. Noted journalist Prbhash Joshi would unveil the book. Another noted journalist MJ Akbar would also participate in the seminar, Ejaz Ali added.

'Bihar turning into a dumping ground for sub-standard goods'
Bihar Industries Association (BIA) president KP Jhunjhunwala inaugurated the awareness programme on “Quality Management Standards (QMS) and Quality Technology Tools (QTT) in Patna on October 28, 2009.
Addressing the function Jhunjhunwala said that Bihar had been turning into a dumping ground for sub-standard goods from China, Nepal and other bordering countries.

RJD to tie up with CPI in Jharkhand
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said that RJD would form an alliance with the Communist Party of India (CPI) in the Jharkhand Assembly election.
“We want to renew old ties with the left parties”, he said.

Eighth group of 423 pilgrims left Patna for Haj pilgrimage on October 27, 2009. A mass prayer was organized at Haj Bhawan wishing well being of all the pilgrims. The group included pilgrims from Patna, Araria, Khagaria, Nawada, Gaya, Bhojpur, Bahagalpur, Banka and Begusarai districts of Bihar. Till date 3337 men and women left Patna to visit the holy shrine.
