Thousands throng Bihar Pavillion
New Delhi, November 27, 2009:
On the concluding day of India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Bihar Pavillion attracted thousands of visitors who thronged the stalls to buy products of their choice. Long queue of visitors was witnessed at the main gate of Bihar Pavillion. The stalls of handlooms, handicrafts, bangles made of lacs and Madhubani painting witnessed huge customers queuing up to buy products. Visitors also enjoyed Litchi, guava and mango juice on their way out.

Sudha Dairy stall attracts visitors in Bhar Pavillion at IITF 09
The stall of Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation, popularly known as Sudha Dairy in Bihar pavilion at India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi attracted national and international visitors. The stall displays the success story of the white revolution brought in Bihar through a network of co-operative milk societies.
Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation achieved a land mark to spread its networks in Jharkhand, UP, Delhi and West Bengal. Sudha dairy stall in pavilion has put on display its milk and other products. It convinces visitors about their products and to invest for establishing Sudha plants.
Mr. Rajiv Kumar in-charge of Sudha stall said that thousands of visitors quarried every day about their products and Sudha Dairy. “We have received more than 50 proposals from visitors,” he added.

Sulabh International Social Service Organization has put up its stall in Bihar Pavillion at 29th India International trade fair 2009 at pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Through this stall Sulabh International is distributing their information books to thousands of visitors every day.

Our stall in- charge makes the visitors aware about eco friendly twin-pit pour flush toilet to prevent environment pollution, community friendly toilet complexes, harness non- conventional energy sources from human waste, biogas from community toilet complexes and to liberate, rehabilitate, educate and train scavengers.

Upendra Singh Kushwaha rejoins JD(U)
Rashtriya Samata Party chief Upendra Singh Kushwaha, former leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly along with his party members rejoined ruling JD (U) in Patna on November 26, 2009 giving a boost to the ruling party in Bihar. With this Rashtriya Samata Party merged with JD (U).
The merger was formalised in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Water Resource Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav and other several JD(U) leaders at a function in Patna.

5 held with sophisticated weapons in Bihar
Police arrested five persons, suspected to be associated with Naxalites and recovered sophisticated weapons from them in Patna on November 26, 2009.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Task Force of Bihar Police raided a place in Bakhtiarpur town, about 70 km from Patna, and arrested the persons. An AK-47, two magazines, five hand grenades and several live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

Workshop on new trends in English language
United States-India Educational Foundation, Kolkata and Fulbright Regional Office for Eastern India organised RELO grant workshop for secondary Engilsh school teachers on new trends in English language in Patna on November 25, 2009.
About 40 english teachers from Patna and other districts took part in the two-day workshop that focused on the ideas and approaches to English language teaching in class room with special emphasis on reading, writing and grammer.

The government had also asked the district health authorities to take punitive action against the ultrasound clinics, who violated the provisions of the Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act 2008.

The silver jubilee Patna Book Fair will begin at Gandhi Maidan in Patna from December 4, 2009. The fair will continue till December 15. The fair is being organised by the Centre for Readership Development.

Nitish-led NDA government completes four years
Nitish Kumar led NDA Government in Bihar completed its four years.
A state function was organized in Patna on November 24, 2009 to celebrate the occasion.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a report card of his government in the last four years.
Highlighting the achievements, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that his government had made Bihar preferred destination for investors.
“Restoration of rule of law, decline in cases of kidnapping besides communal and caste harmony during the NDA rule have made Bihar a preferred destination for investors,” he said.
A state function was organized in Patna on November 24, 2009 to celebrate the occasion.

Achievements
*A joint report of the World Bank and International Finance Corporation had appreciated the condition of Bihar for investment.
*All the 209 private investment proposals have been sanctioned. Of those, 22 were implemented and 74 in advanced stage of implementation involving Rs 1,033 crore.
* Government has done concrete efforts to make Bihar as a developed state by 2015 by ensuring signification progress in the fields of agriculture, health, rural development, education and tourism.
*The development measures taken by the government had also been appreciated by the Centre such as 50 per cent reservation for women in pacnahayats and urban bodies, besides appointment of ex-servicemen as special auxiliary police, among others.
*State government had taken a number of steps to weed out corruption. The number of registration of anti-corruption cases under Nitish rule had increased substantially.
Chargesheets had already been submitted against 595 gazetted officers, 632 non-gazetted public servants and 302 other persons from 2006 to September 2009.

Nitish government failed in all fronts: LJP
Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) released a chargsheets highlighting the failures of the NDA government in Bihar. They termed it "failing on all fronts," and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for failing to fulfill the promise of "good governance and development” in Patna on November 24, 2009.
