Now you can book cooking gas cylinder through SMS

Bihar Cabinet holds meeting on agriculture


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a cabinet meeting on agriculture to prepare a model at CM Secretariat in Patna on April 26, 2011.

The meeting first-ever in India of this kind was held to explore the ways for boosting the agrarian sector. “Bihar is the first state in the country to address the agriculture sector in such a big way with the setting up the specific cabinet on agriculture,” a senior official said.

Presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the cabinet meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, besides 17 other ministers of different departments, including water resources, irrigation, energy, rural works, sugarcane industry, animal husbandry and disaster management.

Fake currency and judicial stamps racket busted in Patna









Patna Police seized fake judicial stamps, judicial stamp papers and currency worth over Rs 1 crore and arrested four persons in this connection in overnight raids at two places on April 26, 2011.

City Superintendent of Police S V Rao Lande said that a police team led by him raided two houses near Bangali Akhara and seized the fake judicial stamps and judicial stamp papers. Police had also seized all the printing equipment found there.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar holds meeting with NDA workers


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a meeting with National Democratic Alliance workers and his cabinet colleagues in Patna on April 25, 2011. During the meeting Kumar directed the state unit of NDA to set up a task force comprising ruling coalition members to help the state government in its drive against corruption in the state.

The task force comprising NDA activists would keep a watch over public servants against corruption, particularly in the schemes like Indira Awas Yojona.

BJP hoping to do well in Bengal, TN and Kerala assembly elections

Senior BJP leader and MP Shahnawaz Hussain claimed that his party would do well in the elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and was looking to form the government in Assam. Hussain was talking to reporters in Patna on April 25, 2011.

Hussain also reacted angrily to the CBI's second charge sheet against five persons in the 2G scam. “It is the ‘first-ever’ instance that a second charge sheet is submitted by the agency in a case”, he said.

Second phase of Panchayat polls end in Bihar






The second phase of Panchayat election in Bihar concluded on April 24, 2011. An estimated 58.8 per cent voting was recorded. The poll was marred by stray incidents of violence in which at least one person was killed and several injured. One person was killed in Madhubani district.
