AISF turns 75
All India Students Federation (AISF) will celebrate the 2012 as its platinum jubilee year. The AISF has turned 75 this year. Talking to reporters in Patna on January 17, 2012, leaders of the federation said AISF would host different functions nation-wide throughout the year to commemorate the occasion.

OxyZen launches coaching centres in Patna
OxyZen has launched its three branches in West Boring Canal Road, Rajabazar and Rajendra Nagar to guide the boys and girls for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, PMT and other related engineering and medical entrance examinations. One dies in auto-rickshaw mishap
One person died while the other received injuries when an auto-rickshaw overturned near Bahadupur railway overbridge under Patrakar Nagar police station in Patna on January 17, 2012. The incident sparked anger among local residents as they took the street and set the auto-rickshaw on fire. They also blocked the road.

Four criminals arrested in Patna City
Patna City police claimed to have busted a gang of criminals who had been involved in road robbery, snatching and other crimes in several localities of Patna. Senior SSP Alok Kumar while giving details to media in Patna on January 17, 2012, said police had arrested four members of the gang and recovered two firearms, four live cartridges, one car and one motorcycle from their possessions.

Bihar girls to speak for empowerment in special 'parliament'
Bihar Government’s Education Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh said a girl each from 243 assembly constituencies of Bihar would articulate their views and suggestions on empowerment of women at a special “parliament” session for them that will be held in Patna on January 24.
Talking to the reporters in Patna on January 16, 2012, Singh said the parliament for and by the girls had been conceived to give them exposure about the parliamentary system akin to the parliament and state legislatures where the elected representatives speak for their constituents.
