Man arrested for hurling shoe towards Bihar CM in Bakhtiyarpur
Bakhtiyarpur Police arrested a person, who allegedly hurled a shoe towards Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during a function in Bakhtiyarpur on January 28, 2016. However, the shoe missed the target. The man was said to be upset with the State Government decision to ban on the sale and purchase of liquor in Bihar from April 1, 2016.

Local residents block road to protest woman's death
Residents of Mithapur locality near Gauriya Mutt blocked road in protest against the death of woman following road mishap. The women named Chinta Devi was struck by a speeding motorcycle while she was going to purchase milk. The protesters were demanding arrest of the biker and Rs 10 lakh compensation for the aggrieved family.

Fake loan granting firm unearthed in Patna
Patna Police arrested four persons who have been duping people since long in the pretext of providing them loans, on January 27, 2016. The cheats were operating under the banner of Shahi Solution and Services located on the second floor of Parijat Complex (Dak Bungalow Road). Police seized Rs 40000 in cash and other fake documents. Police also detained two women in this connection.

Mob goes violent in Hajipur
Local residents foiled the district administration move to demolish a road-side temple in Hajipur on January 26 night. They also blocked the road and set on fire three vehicles including one that was of additional superintendent of police (ASP). The demolition was undertaken following a Patna High Court order. However, on January 27, High Court granted four weeks time to district administration to execute the order.
