Thousands took holy dip in Ganga on the occasion of Kartik Purnima (the full moon day of October-November) at Collectorate and Gai ghats in Patna on November 2, 2009. After taking bath in the holy river Ganga, devotees offered Arghya to Sun God and perfromed different traditional rituals on the bank of Ganga. There was heavy rush of devotees since Sunday evening to occupy place in the safest ghats. It is belived that taking a bath or holy dip in Ganga washes all the sins of the native.
