25th Patna Book Fair begins



Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar inaugurated the 25th Patna Bok Fair at Gandhi Maidan on December 4, 2009. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

About 200 publishers have been taking part in the silver jubilee edition of the Patna Book Fair. About 800 stalls have been put in 2 lakhs square feet area. Centre for Readership Development is the organizer of the fair.

At the opening function, Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar unveiled four books; Deserve Better Governance by Abhimmanyu Singh, Bandarnach by Dhaneshwar Prasad, Industrial Relation and Labour Union by Kameshwar Pandit and a management book written by Shivdev Singh and Chandan Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Bihar Governor said book fair creates education and cultural environment. “It provides an opportunity to writers, intellectuals, educationists, publishers and others to meet and interact”, he said.
