'The Great Return of Doctor Faustus' released
Pro vice-chancellor of Patna University SI Ahson and Dr Shamshad Hussain, former vice-chancellor of Magadh University released a novel "The Great Return of Doctor Faustus" written by Ashutosh Kumar, a student of MA first year (English), Darbhanga House, Patna University, in Patna on March 25, 2010. The novel is inspired by Christophar Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus".

Vendor development programme organised in Patna
Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi inaugurated a national-level vendor development programme, organised by Bihar Industries Association in association with Patna chapter of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises , in Patna on March 25, 2010. An exhibition-cum-sale was also organised to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Modi said Bihar government would extend full cooperation to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector for setting up more industries in the state.

12 Nyaymitras injured in police lathicharge in Patna
Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse Nyaymitras, who took out procession from Gandhi Maidan to R-Block in support of their demands in Patna on March 25, 2010. About a dozen of persons were injured in the lathicharge. Nyaymitras were demanding regularisation of their services. The incident happened near Dak Bungalow crossing.

Bihar Diwas 2010 celebrations end
Three-day Bihar Diwas 2010 celebrations at Gandhi Maidan in Patna ended on March 24, 2010. Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar presided over the closing function. The Governor Konwar also visited the stalls installed there by different government departments and social organisations. Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary, Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Tarakant Jha, Bihar HRD Minister Hari Narayan Singh and other ministers were present at the closing function.

Rakhi wins slow cycle race title
Rakhi Kumari, a class IX student of Government Girls’ High School, Gardanibagh finished last to win Bihar Diwas slow cycle race championship title at Gandhi Maidan on March 24, 2010. Kavita Thapa of Government Girls’ High School, Shashtrinagar and Ruby Kumari of Government Girls’ High School, Boring Road, clinched the second and third positions respectively.

Ram Navami celebrated in Patna
Patna celebrated Ram Navami, Lord Ram's birth day, with traditional gaiety and fervour. Thousands visited Mahavir Temple near Patna Junction railway station to offer prayers to Maryada Purushottam Ram and Mahvir Hanuman on March 24, 2010. Other temples of the city too witnessed huge gathering of devotees since wee hours in the morning.
In the evening huge processions were taken out from different localities of the State Capital to celebrate the day.

50 huts gutted in Kaushal Nagar fire
About 50 huts and property worth lakhs of rupees were gutted when a devastating fire broke out in Kaushal Nagar locality under Airport Police Station in Patna on March 24, 2010.
Police said no one was injured in the incident. Three fire tenders were put into service to douse the leaping flames.
