Builders express concern over imposition of service tax

Builders Association of India has decided to meet Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee requesting him to rollback the recent announcement concerning construction industries.
In a press conference in Patna on March 5, 2010, Builders Association of India (BAI) president YK Yussauf and its general secretary Anand G Gupta said a two-day national meeting of the association would be held in Patna. They said the service tax imposed by the government in this year budget would affect the constrcution industry badly. And the hike in excise duty on steel and cement would make the building construction costly.
