Din in Bihar Assembly over "Excise Scam"



Bihar Assembly was adjourned thrice in the pre-lunch session with Opposition leaders creating noisy scenes demanding CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the excise department in Patna on February 23, 2010.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, deputy leader in the House and RJD MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan and CPI-M leader Ram Deo Verma raised the issue relating to alleged irregularities in the excise department and moved an adjournment motion seeking debate on the issue.
The adjournment motion was accepted by Speaker Uday Narayan Chowdhary after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's brief intervention on the issue saying the state government was ready for the debate.
