Ram Vilas Paswan re-elected LJP president

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan has been re-elected as national president for another five year term for the fifth successive time at the party's national executive meeting in Patna on March 5, 2010.

Later talking to media, Paswan said his party would fight for providing 10 per cent reservation to Muslims and press for budgetary allocation for their development based on their population.
The LJP chief said he favoured reservation for women from the dalit, SC/ST and backward castes. "The LJP in a political resolution demanded reservation for SC/ST and backward classes in privates sector jobs and 10 per cent reservation in government jobs for economically backward people of upper castes", he added.
