RJD-LJP call for Bihar Bandh on July 10

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) will organise a statewide bandh in Bihar on July 10 to protest the hike in fuel prices.
This was disclosed by LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan while talking to reporters in Patna on June 27, 2010.
"Petroleum price hike will raise the price of various commodities. UPA government at the Centre and the state government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are responsible for the price rise, inflation which compound the miseries of the poor people," Paswan said.

Bihar leaders pay tributes to Digvijay Singh






Top Bihar leaders including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal president and former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, fromer Bihar Chief Minister Dr Jagannath Msihra and others paid tributes to former Union Minister and sitting Banka MP Digvijay Singh, who died three days ago at a hospital in London, when body of Singh reached Patna Junction on June 27, 2010 morning by New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with his several ministerial colleagues, MPs and Legislators, paid their respect to the departed leader.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his party MP Ramkripal Yadav also placed wreaths on the body when it was taken out of a special coach attached to the train.
The body was then taken to Jasidih station en-route to Gidhaur in Banka for cremation.

Protests go lauder against hike in fuel prices



Activists of Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), CPI-ML, Rashtriya Mahila Brigade and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) took out rallies to protest the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas in Patna on June 26, 2010.
Bihar BJP chief Dr CP Thakur led a party workers march to Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil through Governor Debanand Konwar against the fuel price hike. The memorandum expressed the fear that petro-price hike would lead to price rise of all essential commodities.

19 killed, 32 injured in Dhanarua bus mishap





Nineteen people were killed and 32 injured when a Gaya-bound bus collided head on with a truck near Chenaki More on NH-83 under Dhanarua police station area, about 30 kilometres south-east of Patna on June 26, 2010. Thirteen injured passengers were admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

RJD state working committee meeting held
