Activists of Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), CPI-ML, Rashtriya Mahila Brigade and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) took out rallies to protest the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas in Patna on June 26, 2010. Bihar BJP chief Dr CP Thakur led a party workers march to Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil through Governor Debanand Konwar against the fuel price hike. The memorandum expressed the fear that petro-price hike would lead to price rise of all essential commodities.
