An arduous task to appease Sun God

Taking a hard sankalp (pledge) is one of the aspect of Chhath puja. Devotees took tough pledges to appease the Sun God and Goddess Sashthi. Devotees covered the entire distance from their residence to Ganga ghats by doing "Dandpranam" (a mode of salutation by prostrating on the ground) to pay obeisance to Sun God in Patna on November 12, 2010.
