Bihar Government gears up for alternative crops

In the wake of failure of Monsoon, Bihar Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh said the state government had geared up for cultivation of alternative crops in the event of drought during the kharif season this year. Talking to reporters in Patna on July 28, 2011, he said the government was also considering the proposal for providing subsidy to farmers to protect standing crops in case of low rainfall.
