Bihar Players Association president Mritunjay Tiwari drew the attention of Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar and Bihar Government on the "undeclared ban" on sporting activities in the state universities for the past four years. Talking to reporters in Patna on September 10, 2011, Tiwari said it was unfortunate the universities of Bihar including Patna University have not been sending the teams for the last four years in the All-India Inter-University Sports Meet. He demanded immediate resumption of sports activities in the universities and colleges of Bihar.
