Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar inaugurated a seminar on "Role of Judiciary in Democracy" in Patna University Wheeler Senate Hall on October 20, 2011. The seminar was organised by the Law Department of the university. Union Minister of Law and Justice and Minority Affairs Salman Khurshid was the chief guest while Patna University Vice Chancellor Dr Shambhu Nath Singh presided over the function. Earlier, talking to reporters Khurshid said Government was “irrevocably” committed to making the proposed Lokpal a constitutional authority. He criticised the attempts by some people to “mislead” the nation on this issue.
