Forest Department gears up for plantation drive

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi held a meeting with Forest Department officials in Patna on July 5, 2012. The Forest Department has decided to offer five saplings to nature lovers free of cost from the nurseries across the state from August 1 to 9. In all 51 lakh saplings will be distributed across Bihar.
The department has also decided  to celebrate August 2 (the festival of Raksha Bandhan) as Vriksha Raksha Soot Bandhan in association  with NGOs across the state.
In Patna, the celebration will be held at Rajdhani Vatika.
