Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a function "Badhte Kadam" organised by Rural Development Department under its programme Jeevika at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on March 9, 2013. Addressing the function, Nitish Kumar announced that 5.5 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) families would get 3 goats and 45 chickens through self help groups under its Jeevika programme run by Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Social Welfare Minister Parween Amanullah were present on the occasion.
