Patna, April 15, 2017: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on
Saturday said abolition of caste system from society would be the true tributes
to Mahatma Gandhi.
Addressing the golden jubilee celebrations of Gandhi Museum
and centenary year celebration of Champaran Satyagrah here, he said the people
of Bihar have expressed their opinions on liquor ban and deaddiction by forming
a recording breaking human chain and this clearly showed their willingness for
social change.
He said if 10 to 20 per cent of new generation youths
started following Gandhian thoughts and ideology then the society would
automatically change in next 10 to 15 years.
He said the government would launch a campaign “Bapu Tere
Dwar” (Bapu at your door) to spread the ideology and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi
across the state. “The government will make arrangements for announcing system
to tell Gandhiji stories in every school after prayers throughout this
centenary year”, he said.
He said the selection of 50 stories from Gandhiji’s life was
being made in this regard.
The Chief Minister announced the construction of a new meeting
hall in the back side of the Gandhi Museum. “The library will also be connected
to this hall”, he said.
He said the State Government would honour more than 800 freedom fighters
here on April 17. “President Pranab Mukherjee, Union Home Minister Rajnath
Singh and Congress Party's vice president Rahul Gandhi will attend the function”, he
said.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav was present in the function.
