Police sub-inspector injured as bomb explodes at Patna Court

Patna, July 1, 2022: A sub-inspector of police was injured when a low-intensity bomb that kept in a tiffin box suddenly exploded on the Patna Civil Court premises on Friday. The injured sub-inspector has been identified as Umakant Rai of Kadam Kuan police station. 

According to information, the sub-inspector reached the court premises with the some bombs that recovered during a raid at Patel Hostel recently to seek permission of the court for its disposal. Meanwhile, a bomb exploded on the table in the Special Investigation Branch at the Civil Court. He was injured in the blast. He was rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment. 

Soon after the incident, the Pirbahor police station reached the spot and started investigating the entire matter. The bombs were brought to the Special Investigation Branch of the Civil Court of Patna on Friday for investigation.

According to police, the bomb exploded due to the formation of gas in the room.
