Tiger Seeks Respite from Scorching Heat in Patna Zoo Pond

Patna, June 13, 2024: As the mercury soared past a blistering 44 degrees Celsius in Patna, residents and animals alike sought relief from the oppressive heat. Among them was a majestic Bengal tiger at the Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, more commonly known as Patna Zoo, which found solace in the cool waters of a pond within its enclosure.

The sweltering temperatures, part of an intense heatwave gripping much of northern India, have made life uncomfortable for both humans and animals. Zookeepers have been vigilant in ensuring the well-being of the zoo’s inhabitants, providing ample water, shade, and cooling measures to help them cope with the extreme weather.

Witnesses to the tiger's refreshing dip described a scene of sheer relief and contentment. The tiger, usually seen pacing its territory or lounging in the shade, waded into the pond, splashing and immersing itself fully.
