Bihar ministers take oath






Nitish Kumar, who led the NDA to a thumping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, was sworn in as chief minister for a second consecutive term in a function at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 26, 2010.

Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to 29 ministers.

Sushil Kumar Modi of BJP was sworn in as a cabinet minister. He will be the deputy chief minister. Eighteen MLAs from JD(U) and 11 from BJP took oath as ministers.

BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Rajnath Singh, Anant Kumar and Shatrughan Sinha attended the function. JD(U) national president Sharad Yadav, former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra and several members from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Bihar were present in the function.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar: Home, General Administration, Election, Vigilance and rest of the departments.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi : Finance, Commercial Taxes and Forest and Environment.

Vijay Kumar Chowdhury: Water Resources department.

Bijendra Prasad Yadav: Minister for Energy with the additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs, Excise and Prohibition and Registration departments.

Nand Kishore Yadav: Minister for Road Construction.

Narendra Singh: Agriculture.

Brishen Patel: Minister for Information and Public relation and Transport.

Ramai Ram: Minister for Revenue and Land Reform department.
