Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bhutan




Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Thimpu (Bhutan) on May 4, 2011 for a four-day visit to study ways to make the state self-reliant in energy sector. Kumar called on Bhutan Prime Minister Jigme Thinley on the first day of the visit.

The Bihar Chief Minister also visited the hydel power project sites in Bhutan.

Atish Chandra and his officer-on-special duty Gopal Prasad also accompanied Kumar on his visit.

The Bihar Chief Minister would make a detailed study of the Gross National Happiness Concept prevalent in Bhutan and would also enquire about the hydel power projects in the neighbouring country going on with support of India.
