Kankarbagh turns violent after abduction and murder of a 7-year-old boy Satyam
Kankarbagh residents turned violent in protest against the abduction and murder of trader’s son of People’s Cooperative Colony on May 30, 2009. People of Kankarbagh blocked roads, forced the shopkeepers to close their shops staging a strong protest. Satyam, a 7-year-old son of a business man Rajesh Kumar, a dealer of inverters and cable wires, went missing on May 26, 2009 while playing with his friends outside his house. Satyam’s father had received a ransom call on his cell phone in the night. After showing some lackadaisical attitude Kankarbagh Police lodged a case of kidnapping for ransom. Police today recovered the body of Satyam and arrested two persons for kidnapping and murder. A third accomplished is said to be absconding. Satyam was a class IV student of Doon Public School, Kankarbagh.
Photographs show the way residents reflect their shock and anger. The body of the deceased being taken for the last rites and the heart-rending scenes of the grief-stricken family.
