MUSU election passes off peacefully
Police swung into action when some students tried to create trouble at the College of Commerce during Magadh University Students Union (MUSU) election in Patna on February 14, 2013. Students cast their votes to elect college representatives for the MUSU. The polling percentage was relatively low but the election passes off peacefully.

Nalanda University to start academic activities in October 2014
Nalanda University Board meeting held in Patna on February 4, 2013. After the meeting chancellor of the university Dr Amartya Sen said the university would start its academic activities in September-October 2014 with two its six proposed schools. School of Historical Sciences and the School of Environment and Ecology will be the first to take off.

Amartya Sen releases book on Papiya's memory in Patna
Nobel laureate Professor Amartya Sen released a book "Resurrection of the State: A Saga of Bihar" at the Asian Development Research Institute in Patna on February 4, 2013. The book edited by Sunita Lall is the compilation of essays in memory of Professor Papiya Ghosh, who was murdered on December 3, 2006.

BCE-NIT Patna alumni meet held
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the annual alumni meet of the Bihar College of Engineering-National Institute of Technology-Patna on February 3, 2013. Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Ratan Kumar Sinha was the guest of honour. Sinha is an alumnus of the 1963 batch of the Bihar College of Engineering, now it is known as NIT-Patna.
