Patna University non-teaching staff struck work for the day on July 10, 2009 by taking casual leave enmass. The non-teaching employees were demanding immediate payment of hiked dearness allowance, house rent allowance and time-bound promotions. The strike call was given by Bihar State University and College Employees Association. Non-teaching staff of nine universities and 250 affiliated colleges joined the one-day strike.Photo: Aftab Alam Siddiqui
