Patients were being shifted from Patna Medical College and Hospital in Patna on November 10, 2009 as junior doctors of the hospital went on indefinite strike from midnight to press for implementation of state government's assurance of hiked stipend for them.A Junior Doctors' Association spokesman said the junior doctors had struck work for an indefinite period since midnight. Despite the assurance given in August, state government had not increased the monthly stipend of the junior doctors from Rs 13,000 per month to Rs 25,000 per month.
