Speaking as chief guest on the occasion of “Induction Parade” of jawans of the newly-constituted special battalion of Bihar Homeguards, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said fire brigade centres would be set up at every sub-division in Bihar,
He said homeguards should have facilities akin to other forces and steps would be taken for expansion and reforms in fire services and bettering the services of homeguards.
“The government will provide Rs 2650 once in two years as uniform allowance for the homeguards with effect from April 1, 2010,” he said.
He said the homeguards would get an enhanced daily allowance of Rs 200 instead of Rs 125 and enhance compensation to Rs 1 lakh from existing Rs 50,000 in the event of death on duty.
