Displeased Janata Dal (United) MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh, who is also a member of an apolitical outfit 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' agitating on the issue of 'Bataidari' (share cropper) issue, denied reports that he and his associates might join the Congress ahead of the crucial assembly polls due later this year.
"We have no plans to join the Congress," Singh said, adding that he would disclose his future course of action in due course of time.
Singh was addressing a press conference in Patna on May 16, 2010.
He also disapproved the ongoing signature campaign being carried out by his party demanding grant of a special category status to Bihar by the Centre.
The signature campaign by the ruling JD(U) was unwarranted in the context that the Centre had been generous in allocation of funds for development works and welfare measures, he added.
