People residing near Birpur barrage area took shelter in the safer places on August 3, 2014 after the threat of rise in water level of Kosi river following a landslide in the river course in Nepal. The huge rock had blocked the main river course of the Kosi river. Bihar Government had also launched the evacuation of people from the area sensing the danger of imminent floods.
