Vice-President of India, M. Hamid Ansari delivered “Khuda Bakhsh Memorial Lecture” on the theme “Identity, Citizenship and Empowerment” at Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library in Patna on December 12, 2009. The lecture series was organsied to mark the death centenary year of Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library founder Khan Bahadur Khuda Bakash. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was the chief guest while Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar presided over the function.
