Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday ( August 2, 2026) said his government is dedicated to public service and the state's development while addressing a felicitation programme at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall organised by All India Kanu-Halwai Vichar Manch and Bihar Evm Vanshi Chacha Samajik Vikas Paishad. He announced that one crore Below Poverty Line (BPL) families would receive ration cards before March 31, 2027, and 2.5 million households would get rooftop solar systems. He said 211 new degree colleges had begun operations and 3,000 professors would be appointed. Choudhary also highlighted free electricity for up to 125 units for 17 million consumers and pledged improved infrastructure, land protection for the poor and support for weaker sections.
