IGNOU holds 30th convocation





Patna, April 13, 2017: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) held its 30th convocation simultaneously in all its regional and state centres on Thursday.

In Patna, the convocation was organised at Vidyapati Bhavan, where 631 students have them registered for their degrees and certificates. Under the jurisdiction of Patna regional centre, 9412 students were awarded with their degrees and diploma certificates.

Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) vice chancellor Professor Harishchandra Rathore and IGNOU regional director Dr Kaismuddin Haider jointly inaugurated the function. They also gave away the degree and diploma certificates to the students.

IGNOU Patna Centre holds convocation

As many as 28598 students studying in 54 centres that comes under Patna Regional Centre of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, got their degree/diploma certificates and the toppers got their medals in the annual convocation held in Patna on April 12, 2013. Patna Regional Centre head Qaseemuddin Haider and former Vice Chancellor of Magadh University Dr Shamshad Hussain gave away the degrees. About 800 students were present in the function.

IGNOU Patna Centre holds annual convocation


Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Patna, organised its 22nd annual convocation at Braj Kishore Memorial Pratishthan in Patna on April 2, 2011. As many as 865 students got their degrees and certificates on the occasion. The functions were simultaneously organised at 50 regional centres across the country. Chanakya Law University vice-chancellor Professor A Lakshminath was the chief guest. Regional director of IGNOU Patna Centre, Dr Qaseenuddin Haider was present on the occasion.

Role of IGNOU community colleges hailed

First meeting of the coordinators' committee of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Community College was held at Ambedkar Institute of Higher Education in Patna on October 30, 2010. Pro vice-chancellor of IGNOU Dr DK Choudhary inaugurated the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Choudhary said IGNOU community colleges were a revolutionary step in providing professional and vocational education in the country.

Bihar CM lays foundation stone of IGNOU regional centre in Patna

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) regional centre in Patna on November 23, 2009. The Bihar government has donated four acres of land in Mithapur for the centre. IGNOU vice-chancellor VN Rajasekharan Pillai was present on the occasion.

Patna to have IGNOU regional campus

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) signed an MoU with Government of Bihar's Labour Resource Department for the skill development and training of government employees, youth and teachers under Samarth project in Patna on October 14, 2009.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and IGNOU vice-chancellor Professor VN Rajasekharan Pillai were present at function.
Speaking on the occasion, IGNOU vice-chancellor Professor VN Rajasekharan Pillai announced that IGNOU would open its first regional campus in Patna soon.
The eastern region campus will be set up at Mithapur locality in Patna, he added.
