Buddha Ambedkar Vichar Sangh organises Ambedkar Jayanti

Patna: Buddha Ambedkar Vichar Sangh organised Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Jayanti celebration here on Sunday. AK Ambedkar inaugurated the function.

Speaking on the occasion, he said at the present time there is an urgent need to spread the messages of Tathagat Buddha and Baba Saheb among the people of the country.

Sangh secretary Gajendra Majhi, Rajib Kumar, Anil Kumar and Dinesh Kumar were present on the occasion.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar asks people to boycott dowry seekers

Patna, April 14, 2017: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday called upon the people to boycott dowry seekers so that the evil could be rooted out of the society.

Addressing the 126^th birth anniversary celebration function of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar here, he urged the people to start social movement against child marriage and dowry as they have been doing against liquor ban and deaddiction across the state.

“Child marriage is the main reason of malnutrition”, he said.

He also stressed upon the need to do away with caste system. 

He said Baba Saheb had given the slogans of “get educated, remain united and fight for the right cause”.

He said government had been working for the betterment of every caste. “We have given reservation to SC/ST candidates in judiciary. We had also given reservation in promotion but High Court decided it against us. We have moved Supreme Court against this order and now the government is waiting for SC decision”, he said.

Casteless India will be real tribute to Ambedkar, says CUSB vice chancellor

Patna, April 13, 2017: Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) vice chancellor Professor Harishchandra Rathore called upon the youths to come out of narrow social thinking and join hand together irrespective of castes and religions for the development of India that Dr BR Ambedkar envisaged.

Addressing the the 126th Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations organised by Students Circle of the university, he said Dr Ambedkar while writing the Constitution kept the country's interest first rather than castes and religions.

Making a country free of caste system would be the real tribute to Dr Ambedkar, he added.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar pays tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at a state government organised function in Patna on April 14, 2011. The Chief Minister also distributed cheques of Rs 4,000 each to Mahadalit Vikas Mitras.

Addressing the function Nitish Kumar said he was happy to note that the Centre had given due recognition to the Mahdalit Commission set up by his government in 2007 to uplift the extremely backwards among dalits.

He said the state government would further strengthen the Mahadalit Upliftment Centres and Talimi Markaj Centres for imparting skills for unemployed minority youths.

He said the state government would give money to the dalits to purchase radios and urged private firms to organise fairs for ensuring sale of radios at an appropriate price.
