Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday expressed displeasure over the alleged 'silly criticism' of his government and said that those who want to better understand his achievement should look into the state of the state before he comes to power which was very pathetic.
CM Nitish was addressing the achievements of his government while addressing Independence Day celebrations at the historic Gandhi Maidan in the capital Patna. At the same time, the CM also gave information in his address about popular steps like reinstatement of teachers and linking the personnel already in service to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) scheme .
This was the last speech of the Chief Minister on Independence Day in the current term, in which he finally said in his nearly one-hour address that "It has become fashionable to tweet anything by sitting in the house, without even knowing what the achievement is." The Chief Minister's displeasure comes in the backdrop of the state government's alleged failure to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing campaign on social media against the socio-economic crisis.
This year because of Covid-19, Independence Day was celebrated with great simplicity. CM Nitish Kumar hoisted the flag amidst invited guests at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on August 15, 2020.
