Jashodaben asks Sahu Samaj girls to participate in social actvities

Patna: Bihar Tailiey Sahu Samaj felicitated Jashodaben, wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a function organised at Sahu Samaj Bhavan here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion Jashodaben advocated for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save girl child, educate girl child) programme and urged the women of Sahu Samaj to participate in social activities with great zeal and enthusiasm.

"Girls should come forward and take up the challenges for overall development of the society", she said.

Earlier, Jashodaben paid obeisance at Takht Shree Harmandir Ji Sahib in Patna City where Granthi presented her a Siropa (scarf).

Jashodaben also offered prayers at Shakti Peeth Bari Patan Devi.

Jashodaben reaches Patna on 3-day Bihar visit

Patna, April 22, 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben arrived here on three-day tour of the state. She was accorded warm welcome at the Patna airport on Saturday.

Bihar Tailik Sahu Sabha organised a grand welcome ceremony at the airport for Jashodaben. The members of Sabha presented flower bouquet to her and performed aarti. 

From airport, she was taken to hotel Maurya where she was again accorded grand welcome. Members of the Tailik Sahu Sabha presented her a shawl and memento. 

In her brief speech, she called upon the girls of the Sahu community to come forward for the development of state and society.

On Sunday, Jashodaben will leave for Begusarai to unveil the statue of Bhamashah in a function. She will stay there for the day.

Bihar Tailik Sahu Sabha spokesman said the Sabha will organise a big farewell ceremony in the honour of Jashodaben on Monday.

This is Jashodaben's maiden visit to Bihar.
